A Day Out Can Make A Difference is a collection of photographs from asylum seekers and refugees who were given the opportunity to have a day out in their new home town and see the city as citizens of London. The Royal Parks, London Zoo, River Cruises, Rides on London buses, and a trip on the British Airways London Eye were just some of the places visited by the different families.

The images on exhibition reflect moments of the days out of different families in the place they chose to go. Also exhibited are the little photo album with the images taken by the individuals themselves (album that they will keep after the exhibition). All the days out were very unique in their way, but during the picnics and conversations it was obvious that , for many families, this was the first time that they had been able to spend a day together and to see their children running around, playing and laughing for a very long time. For many parents, this gave them the renewed sense of hope that despite all they had left behind, at least for their children, their new home offers the chance for a solid and stable future and the opportunity to lead a full life.
Families and individuals that took part in the project are from a variety of countries including Rwanda, Sudan, Albania, Colombia, Afghanistan and Angola, Kosovo and others.
