"An investigation of identity is unlikely to reveal definitive truths. Rather, identity may be seen as ripples on the pond of our existence or perhaps as the waves of thought and emotion that break upon the shoreline of our consciousness. Each wave, modified by that which preceded it, contributing to the complex matrix of our identities. Thus mythic beliefs, amongst others, may give these unending sea changes some structure, coherence and stability and it is in this context that the exhibition 'Borderlands' reflects upon my relationship to Poland."
